Seminar Content
The seminar explored automation of regenerative medicine process development through robotics and AI.
In the main presentations, Mr. Atsushi Inoue, General Manager of the Digital Process Innovation Division at Cellfa Bioscience Inc., and Mr. Kenjiro Adachi, Process Development Lead in the same division, introduced their company’s regenerative medicine process development and robot manufacturing technologies, and shared their current position and outlook for manufacturing automation using robotics.
Ozawa’s Presentation
Ozawa presented under the title “Transforming Regenerative Medicine Process Development with AI and Robotics: Implementation Cases and the Future We Aim For.” Cell manufacturing and process development in regenerative medicine face significant challenges in labor and time due to the complexity of processes and rigorous quality management requirements. The talk explained Epistra’s approach using AI and mathematical optimization to address these challenges, drawing on real-world implementation examples.
Panel Discussion
A closing talk session was held with four speakers. Ms. Shinobu Kuwae, Senior Advisor at Minaris Advanced Therapies Inc., served as moderator, joined by Mr. Atsushi Inoue and Mr. Kenjiro Adachi of Cellfa Bioscience, and Ozawa. Speakers representing pharmaceutical companies, suppliers, and AI applications discussed how to combine robotics and AI to advance regenerative medicine processes, examining both challenges and potential solutions.
